A lot of people were diagnosed with PDD-NOS before 2013. Before the DSM-5, autism was split into categories like autism, Asperger’s, and PDD-NOS. PDD-NOS was often used when someone had autistic traits but didn’t fit the narrow criteria at the time. In 2013, all of that was merged into Autism Spectrum Disorder.
